This dataset contains wildlife observations from camera trap monitoring in Roztochya Nature Reserve and surrounding areas. The project started in 2020 and is ongoing. All observations have been verified through expert consensus by at least two people. The dataset will be gradually updated but without a fixed schedule.

The study area is located in the Ukrainian part of Roztochya, a hilly region in Lviv Oblast covering approximately 1,700 km². The landscape is dominated by forests (50%) and agricultural areas (30%), with meadows and marshes. The region has an average altitude of 320-370 m and contains an extensive protected area network covering over 20% of the territory.

This study was supported by the IDEA WILD foundation wich provided us with 8 phototraps and by the Embassy of Finland in Ukraine, which provided funding for the acquisition of 15 cameras.
The dataset will be updated irregularly, most likely towards the end of each year. Updates will include new observations from ongoing monitoring, potential additions of metadata to existing records, and corrections of any errors if identified.
