The dataset contains the results of the records of 561 nests of the 12 species of Anatidae: Mute Swan Cygnus olor, Greylag Goose Anser anser, Shoveler Anas clypeata, Wigeon Anas penelope, Mallard Anas platyrhynchos, Garganey Anas querquedula, Red-crested Pochard Netta rufina, Pochard Aythya ferina, Tufted Duck Aythya fuligula, Ferruginous Duck Aythya nyroca, Goosander Mergus merganser, Red-breasted Merganser Mergus serrator in the territory of mainly the western part of Ukraine, partly in other regions, namely: Volyn, Lviv, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne, Khmel'nyts'kyi, Zakarpattia, Sumy, Chernihiv, Vinnytsia, Chernivtsi, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Zhytomyr administrative regions. 72% of the records are located in Volyn and Lviv regions (408 records).

With the help of the project two more publishers from Ukraine were registered. This means that despite rocket attacks, close to the front line, lack of light... Lviv, Kharkiv, Odesa and Melitopol continue to work on publication of scientific archives of the West-Ukrainian Ornithological Society and Azov-Black Sea Ornithological Working Group. Both organizations registered with GBIF and our operators have already handed over the first sets data for publication. And this means that more than 10,000 verified records of bird registrations will appear with open access.

収集方法

The collection of materials for the bank of bird nests of Ukraine took place according to the methods and on the basis of the questionnaires developed by the Western Ukrainian Ornithological Society. The search for nests was carried out both during special research and for accidental finds. A separate questionnaire was filled out for each registered nest, which indicated the species, date and place of discovery, describes the biotope and exact location of the nest, its dimensions and nesting material, the dimensions and weight of eggs or chicks (if such measurements were taken). Such a questionnaire is a reliable documented fact of the nesting of a species in a certain area. The nomenclature follows the Catalog of Life.

Study Extent	The dataset represents the results of 12 species of Anstidae: Mute Swan Cygnus olor, Greylag Goose Anser anser, Shoveler Anas clypeata, Wigeon Anas penelope, Mallard Anas platyrhynchos, Garganey Anas querquedula, Red-crested Pochard Netta rufina, Pochard Aythya ferina, Tufted Duck Aythya fuligula, Ferruginous Duck Aythya nyroca, Goosander Mergus merganser, Red-breasted Merganser Mergus serrator nests' registrations within the territory of mainly western Ukraine for the period starting from 1947 to 2015. This dataset contains data on 102 Mute Swan Cygnus olor, 3 Greylag Goose Anser anser, 34 Shoveler Anas clypeata, 1 Wigeon Anas penelope, 162 Mallard Anas platyrhynchos, 55 Garganey Anas querquedula, 2 Red-crested Pochard Netta rufina, 142 Pochard Aythya ferina, 52 Tufted Duck Aythya fuligula, 4 Ferruginous Duck Aythya nyroca, 2 Goosander Mergus merganser, 1 Red-breasted Merganser Mergus serratornests.
Quality Control	The authors of the dataset are fully responsible for the quality of the published data (species identification, georeferencing, other provided data).

Conducting of a field surveys and spreading of questionnaires developed by the society.
Verification (if possible).
Identification and confirming of species.
Georeferencing.
Adding all the collected information to one unified database.
Organizing of the dataset according to Darwin Core standards.
