Description

Botanical Garden is a subdivision of Kherson State University. The Botanical Garden was founded in 1934, with the aim of studying and preserving the biodiversity of the plant kingdom in the artificial contexts for their further scientific, cultural and economic use. In 1972, the Botanical Garden assigned a status of a park, a local significant site of the garden art. The biological diversity of the Botanical Garden’s collection fund includes more than 220 species of woody plants, 200 species of herbaceous plants, 60 species of mushrooms, 20 species of lichens, and 15 species of mosses. The catalogue contains information about plants and fungi (including lichens) growing on the territory of the Botanical Garden of Kherson State University. The dataset obtain a checklist of vascular plants. The list of the higher vascular plants includes 579 species of representatives of 349 genera of 95 families, including 24 species of 14 genera of 6 families of the gymnosperms, 555 species of 335 genera of 89 families of the gymnosperms The nomenclature of the vascular plants in dataset follows “Nomenclatural Checklist of vascular plants of Ukraine” (Mosyakin & Fedoronchuk 1999).

Data Records

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 592 records.

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
