Descrição

The dataset includes the results of field research conducted in 2022-2024 in the Kirovohrad Region to prepare a scientific justification and create the first national park in the region. The scientific substantiation of the need to create the Chornolisko-Bokovenkivskyi National Nature Park was developed by the NGO Ukrainian Nature Conservation Group in 2023 (Moysiyenko et al., 2023). The proposed national nature park includes two quite distant from each other units. Chornolisko-Bokovenkivsky includes the Chornolis and Chutiv forest areas, the valley of the upper Inhulets River, located on the territory of Oleksandrivska settlement territorial community, Dmytrivska, Subotsivka rural territorial communities and the regional landscape park ‘Bokovenki named M.L. Davydov’, located on the territory of Dolyna city territorial community and Huriv rural community of Kropyvnytsk District of Kirovohrad Region. These are two of the southernmost large watersheds of broadleaf forests with a total area of about 13 thousand hectares. The Veseli Bokovenky branch is located in the south of Kirovohrad Region, on the territory of the Dolynska urban territorial community and the Hurivska rural community of the Kropyvnytskyi district. The Bokovenki branch is being created on the basis of the regional landscape park “Bokovenky named M.L. Davydov”. The unit will protect the valleys of the Bokova and Bokovenka rivers, as well as numerous beams that flow into them. Here, the slopes contain large areas of steppes and granite outcrops, as well as a number of other habitats. The department will also include the Veseli Bokovenki dendrological park, founded in 1893. This dataset contains 687 occurrences of 385 species of vascular plants recorded. The nomenclature of the dataset is as follows: “Ukrainian Plant Trait Database: UkrTrait v. 1.0” - (Vynokurov et al. 2024).

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Dados Sobre o Projeto

Field research supported by projects "The project 'Creation of Protected Areas in Ukraine (2024–2025), implemented by the Ukrainian Nature Conservation Group with the support of the Fondation de France.

Título Creation of Protected Areas in Ukraine (2024–2025)

Métodos de Amostragem

Recording and identification of vascular plants with using road-field methods and VegApp.

Área de Estudo The dataset contains the co-distribution of vascular plants. The study area is located in the main massif of the NNP (Chornolis and Chutiv forests) massifs and the upper reaches of the Inhulets River) is located in the south of the forest-steppe natural zone within the within the boundaries of the Tiasmynsko-Inhulets physiographic region
Controle de Qualidade Some specimens of the vascular plants were collected as herbarium for determination and verification after the fieldwork. After digitizing the data, we harmonised the taxonomic information according to the nomenclature sources "Ukrainian Plant Trait Database: UkrTrait v. 1.0" - (Vynokurov et al. 2024): for vascular plants, we used GBIF Backbone Taxonomy (GBIF species matching tool: https://www.gbif.org/tools/species-lookup) for the taxonomic check and implemented minor corrections of species names regarding misprints and problematic taxa to avoid misinterpretation. and QGIS 3.38 (https://qgis.org) for quality control.

Descrição dos passos do método:

  1. Site selection, field research
  2. Identification of herbarium specimens of vascular plants
  3. Data validation and cleaning
  4. Data set transformation according to Darwin Core standards
  5. Taxonomic validation, final quality control
