The dataset contains the results of the records of 1130 nests of the 10 species of Ciconiiformes: Bittern Botaurus stellaris, Little Bittern Ixobrychus minutus, Night Heron Nycticorax nycticorax, Great Whitе Egret Ardea alba, Little Egret Egretta garzetta, Grey Heron Ardea cinerea, Purple Heron Ardea purpurea, Spoonbill Platalea leucorodia, White Stork Ciconia ciconia, Black Stork Ciconia nigra in the territory of mainly the western part of Ukraine, partly in other regions, namely: Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Volyn, Sumy, Ternopil, Khmel'nyts'kyi, Rivne, Kyiv, Chernivtsi, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, Kirovohrad, Zakarpattia, Vinnytsia administrative regions. 50% of the records are located in Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv regions (584 records).

Datos del proyecto
With the help of the project two more publishers from Ukraine were registered. This means that despite rocket attacks, close to the front line, lack of light... Lviv, Kharkiv, Odesa and Melitopol continue to work on publication of scientific archives of the West-Ukrainian Ornithological Society and Azov-Black Sea Ornithological Working Group. Both organizations registered with GBIF and our operators have already handed over the first sets data for publication. And this means that more than 10,000 verified records of bird registrations will appear with open access.

Métodos de muestreo
The collection of materials for the bank of bird nests of Ukraine took place according to the methods and on the basis of the questionnaires developed by the Western Ukrainian Ornithological Society. The search for nests was carried out both during special research and for accidental finds. A separate questionnaire was filled out for each registered nest, which indicated the species, date and place of discovery, describes the biotope and exact location of the nest, its dimensions and nesting material, the dimensions and weight of eggs or chicks (if such measurements were taken). Such a questionnaire is a reliable documented fact of the nesting of a species in a certain area. The nomenclature follows the Catalog of Life.

- Conducting of a field surveys and spreading of questionnaires developed by the society.
- Verification (if possible).
- Identification and confirming of species.
- Georeferencing.
- Adding all the collected information to one unified database.
- Organizing of the dataset according to Darwin Core standards.
