Descrição

The dataset contains data on fish and crustacean species collected during field studies of commercial fisheries and comprehensive ichthyological research in the reservoirs of the Dnipro River. The dataset contains data on the findings of 21 fish species and 1 crayfish species registered during the study of catches in the specified territory, as well as information on the number of individuals, their biomass, type and parameters of fishing gear.

Métodos de Amostragem

The records are presented in chronological order of description. The research was carried out by biological analysis of catches of industrial (commercial) fishing in different seasons of the year in places of fishing and reception of catches. Fish and crustaceans were removed by gillnets with a mesh size range from 36 to 130 mm and with a mesh length of up to 70 m; as well as by fishing traps - fyke nets and crawfish traps. During the research, portable devices for measuring mass and morphometric indicators, as well as photofixation tools, were used. Species identification was carried out visually.

Área de Estudo The dataset represents records of fish individuals caught during field studies in 2011-2024 period. The studied territory covers the water areas of the Kakhovka, Zaporizhia (Dnipro), Kaniv and Kremenchuk reservoirs. We express our gratitude to the Zaporizhia Fish Protection Patrol for technical support and assistance in conducting the study. We are sincerely grateful to the NGO "Ukrainian Nature Conservation Group" for financial support. We thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the opportunity to conduct scientific research in wartime!
