Description
The database includes 4724 records of 355 species of benthic invertebrates mostly belonging to phylums Annelida, Arthropoda and Mollusca. The database includes 528 sampling events held in period 2007-2021 in Ukrainian part of Danube delta. Most of the records were carried out on the territory of the Danube Biosphere Reserve. The database includes findings of bottom-living and plant-living benthic invertebrates.

Méthodes d'échantillonnage
The samples of macrozoobenthos were collected three times a year - spring, summer and autumn. Samples were collected from sandy, silt and silty-sand bottom substrates and representatives of aquatic vegetation. Samples were collected by bottom-grabbers (with a working area of 100 cm2), hand samplers (with a working area of 100 cm2), hydrobiological net, kicking net and bottom dredgers. The upper layer of the bottom sediments (up to 5 cm) was selected for the study. The samples were washed through a sieve with a mesh size of 1 mm2, fixed with a 4% formaldehyde solution and transported to the laboratory to determine the species composition. The database contains mostly finds identified to species or genus. Geographical locations were indicated by GPS-navigator in decimal degrees according to the WGS84 system. The nomenclature follows the GBIF BackBone Taxonomy.
