Description

The database includes finds of animals and plants in the valley of the Desna River and its main tributaries (Oster, Seym, Snov rivers).

Data Records

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 2,779 records.

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Sampling Methods

The usual collection methods were used during the entomofauna research. Representatives of other taxonomic groups were noted along the way. Also, some collection materials stored at the Mykola Gogol Nizhyn State University and the National Science and Natural History Museum of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine have been processed.

Study Extent The dataset is a result of own observations of the author. These observations were provided and organized in a form of dataset as a product of winning project of UNCG grant for supporting of investigation of Desna River biodiversity. The research was carried out with the help of the administration of the Mezynskyi National Nature Park and in cooperation with the Mykola Gogol Nizhyn State University.
Quality Control The author is fully responsible for the quality of data provided within the published dataset.

Method step description:
