Description

The database includes a list of fish species of Ukraine that were seized by fishing inspectors from poaching gears. During this process the protocols on administrative offenses were written.

Data Records

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 5,535 records.

Dataset includes fish species registered within entire territory of Ukraine: Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Luhansk, Kherson, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernivtsi, Khmel'nytsky, Ternopil, Rivne, Vinnytsia, Zakarpattia and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

Sampling Methods

The database was created by the computer program Microsoft Excel. The database was created using fish surveillance information on seized and recorded fish in poaching gears.

Study Extent The database includes a list of fish species of Ukraine that were seized by fishing inspectors from poaching gears.
Quality Control The authors are fully responsible for the quality of data provided within the dataset.

Method step description:

  1. 1. Investigation of protocols on seizing of fish in poaching gears in different regions of Ukraine written by inspectors of local fishery partols.
  2. 2. Georeferencing.
  3. 3. Creation of dataset using Microsoft Excel.
