Description
The database includes species of aboriginal and alien Ponto-Caspian amphipods in the Desna River basin within the Chernihiv and Kyiv regions (2003-2021): (24 observation stations).

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 50 records.

Sampling Methods
The main sampling was carried out from thickets of higher aquatic vegetation. Samples from other substrates (stones, wood) as well as benthos samples were also included.
| Study Extent | The research was conducted during 2003-2021 in Chernihiv and Kyiv regions: Desna riverbed and its tributaries, namely Snov, Seym, Rod, Oster, Bilous and their floodplains. Some of the expeditions were supported by the Institute of Hydrobiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The 2021 expedition was funded by a grant from the Ukrainian Nature Conservation Group ("UNCG"). |
