Descrição

The dataset contains records of fish species obtained during ichthyological and hydroecological research in different areas of the Irpin River basin. The dataset contains records of 40 fish species registered in the Irpin River basin.

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Métodos de Amostragem

Ichthyological catches and photo registration were carried out at local points in different parts of the basin based on standard field research methods. Ichthyological nets and fishing rods were used for fishing. Data on catches of amateur fishermen were included, and dead fish were collected to determine species affiliation. Before fishing, photo and video recordings of fish in the water area were carried out. Field research was carried out in different biotopes in all seasons. Approaches and methods of catching and identifying fish species are taken from the literary sources: Movchan Yu.V. (2011). Fishes of Ukraine. Kyiv: Zoloti Vorota. 444 pp. (Ukr.); Kottelat M., Freyhof J. (2007). Handbook of European freshwater fishes. Switzerland: Delemont. 646 p.

Área de Estudo The material was collected during ichthyological and hydroecological research in the Irpin River and its tributaries. The authors express their gratitude to the co-authors of the descriptions: Medovnyk D. V., Pryshlyak S. P., Krasnov I., Buziashvili A., Zaiko V., Kurilenko O. V., Tsikoza V., Ketman O. E., Afanasiev S. O. The authors are also sincerely grateful to the NGO "Ukrainian Nature Conservation Group" for financial support, as well as to the National Fund for the opportunity to conduct research in the upper and middle reaches of the Irpin River and its tributaries. The authors express their Infinite gratitude to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the opportunity to finalize the materials and hope for new research under the peaceful sky of independent Ukraine!
Controle de Qualidade The authors bear full responsibility for the quality of the data in this dataset.

Descrição dos passos do método:

  1. Conducting of field trips with recording of the fish.
  2. Species identification, including help of other specialists.
  3. Georeferencing.
  4. Organizing of the dataset according to the Darwin Core standards.
