Descrição
The dataset contains data on fish species collected during scientific-research catches and conducting comprehensive ichthyological studies in the upper part of the Kakhovka reservoir. The dataset contains data on the records of 18 fish species registered during the studying of caught material in the specified area, as well as information on the number of individuals, their biomass, and parameters of fishing gear.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Métodos de Amostragem
The records are presented in chronological order of description. The research was carried out by scientific fishing in places of mass spawning during April-June. Sets of graded mesh gillnets with different mesh sizes were used: 30, 36, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 70, 75, 80, 90, 100, 110, 120 mm - up to 2 units of each mesh with a mesh length of up to 70 m; as well as traps - fyke nets. Portable mass measurement devices were used. Species identification was carried out visually.
Área de Estudo | The dataset represents records of fish individuals caught during field studies in 2014-2021 period and during separate catches in the next years. The studied territory covers the water area of the Kakhovka reservoir within the Zaporizhia district of the Zaporizhia region (near the villages of Bilenke and Lysohirka). We express our gratitude to the Zaporizhia Fish Protection Patrol for technical support and assistance in conducting the study. We are sincerely grateful to the NGO "Ukrainian Nature Conservation Group" for financial support. We thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the opportunity to conduct scientific research in wartime! |

Controle de Qualidade | Author is fully responsible for the quality of data provided within the dataset. Also the species are well-identified visually, giving very high reliability level when the information was obtained from the third parties. |
Descrição dos passos do método:
- Conducting of field trips to study sites.
- Performing the catches of fish using the gillnets and fyke nets.
- Species identification (by visual signs).
- Georeferencing.
- Organising of the dataset according to the Darwin Core standards.
