The survey covered a large part of Kharkiv region, first of all - northern, central, south-eastern and some southern districts.

The dataset consists exclusively of species of birds.

Standard methods of bird counting were used (Hayne, 1949; Равкин, 1967; Карякин, 2004) - both route accounting (relative population accounting) and area accounting (absolute population accounting).
