Description

The dataset consists of data on plants registered during preparation of geobotanical descriptions, mapping forms and other materials of geobotanical studies of the Lytovskyi Bir tract. The tract is part of the Hetman National Nature Park. The dataset represents data on the records of 247 species of higher vascular plants.

Data Records

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 1,543 records.

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Versions

The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.

Sampling Methods

The research was carried out with the aim of mapping vegetation and studying the structure of habitats using the traditional method of performing full geobotanical descriptions. In some areas of broad-leaved forests, double observations were made during the flowering of spring ephemeroids and during the main vegetation period. In general, continuous mapping of the tract's forests was carried out.

Study Extent The dataset consists exclusively of registrations of higher vascular plants (Tracheophyta) collected in the period from 2011 to 2019. The investigated area includes a forest massif on a sandy terrace on the left bank of the Vorskla River between the villages of Klymentove and Lytovka (Okhtyrsky district, Sumy region). The research was carried out within the framework of scientific studying of the Hetman National Nature Park. The author is sincerely grateful to the NGO "Ukrainian Nature Conservation Group" for financial support.
Quality Control The author bears full responsibility for the quality of the data provided in the dataset.

Method step description:

  1. Conducting of field expeditions.
  2. Samplings of plants.
  3. Species identification.
  4. Georeferencing.
  5. Creating of the dataset according to Darwin Core standards.
