The database includes records of hydrobionts (fish and some invertebrates) made during the author's field research conducted within Mykolaiv administrative region of Ukraine.

Métodos de Amostragem

The datasetwas created using the Microsoft Excel v.2016. Catches of pond seines, which were exposed in the coastal zone of the Black Sea near the village of Rybakivka (Mykolaiv district of the Mykolaiv region (September-October 2021)), were also analyzed. In addition, the data of control catches of the Institute of Fisheries of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in the Oleksandrivske reservoir, which were carried out in August 2016, are provided in the dataset too. Species identification was carried out via commonly accepted methodology due to visual specific features.

Área de Estudo The dataset includes records of species of fish and some aquatic invertebrates that were caught in various fishing gear (industrial, poaching, scientific) in the Mykolayiv region. Information on poaching catches was taken from the criminal proceedings of the National Police of Ukraine in the Mykolaiv region (2022-2023).
Controle de Qualidade The author, as a an ichthyologist with more than 15 years of experience, is fully responsible for the quality of data provided in the dataset.

  3. Identification of fish species that were caught along with invertebrates that were caught accidentally.
  4. Georeferencing of the records.
  5. Organizing of the dataset according to the Darwin Core standards.
