Description
The dataset includes finds of about 600 species of plants and animals within the valleys of the Desna River and its tributaries.

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 13,986 records.

Sampling Methods
We used reconnaissance and detailed route methods to survey the section of the Desna river valley from the village of Sverdlovka to the village of Rozlioty of Korop district of Chernihiv region and from the village of Sokolivka to the city of Chernihiv (including inner part of the city), as well as - the valleys of its tributaries - Snov (from the village of Tymonovychi, Semenivsky district of Chernihiv region to the village of Karpovychi of the same district and from the village of Elino Snovsky district to the village, Snovsk of the same district), as well as its tributaries - Revna (from the village of Arkhypivka to the village of Orlykivka, Semenivsky district), Rvanets (from the village of Mashove to the village of Zhadove, Semenivsky district), Bilous and Stryzhnia - within the city of Chernihiv.

- The species registrations were georeferenced using a GPS navigator.
