說明

The dataset include 4410 occurrences of different 485 name taxa of vascular plants (437 determined to species, 17 to subspecies, 2 to variety, 27 to genus and 2 to family). Total list of flora include 30 species and 189 occurrences of rare plants (20 to Red List of Khmelnytskyi region, 11 to Red Data Book of Ukraine, 1 to CITES, 1 to Bern Convention). This dataset is the result of field research conducted by Professor of the Kherson State University Ivan Moysiyenko in 2022. In total, 50 isolated sites of Tovtry located among agricultural fields in the Kamianets-Podilskyi district of Khmelnytskyi region were studied. For each Tovtry, a list of all spontaneously growing vascular plant species that were found during a single visit is provided.

計畫資料

The project "Open biodiversity data: serving nature conservation in Ukraine" is supported by the Rufford Foundation and is aimed on collecting data on biodiversity in Ukraine by specialists of the Ukrainian Nature Conservation Group (UNCG) for publication in GBIF. The project became especially relevant in connection with the invasion of Russian troops into Ukraine, which led to many threats to rare species in different parts of Ukraine. The results of the project will be a backbone for establishment of new protected areas and Emerald Network sites, as well as for development of management plans for already existing protected areas. As a result, we will prepare documents for all the important sites identified and provide them directly to the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Ukraine. Our gathered data on the occurrences of protected species will facilitate the establishment of new protected areas.

經費來源 The project "Open biodiversity data: serving nature conservation in Ukraine" is supported by the Rufford Foundation. https://www.rufford.org/projects/oleksii-vasyliuk/open-biodiversity-data-serving-nature-conservation-ukraine/ The data processing and publication were funded by NCN scholarship program for Ukrainian students and young researchers in collaboration with the University of Warsaw (N.S.).
研究區域描述 The project covers entire territory of Ukraine ( during 2020-2022). The project includes findings of animals (Animalia), fungi (Fungi) and plants (Plantae).
研究設計描述 Ukrainian Nature Conservation Group (UNCG) was first established in 2014 as a group of enthusiastic nature-conservationists from different regions of Ukraine. In 2018 we registered UNCG as the NGO. Our mission is to combine efforts, skills and expertise of researchers, conservationists and volunteers for conservation of threatened taxa and endangered habitats in Ukraine. Our goals are: - gathering biodiversity data; - establishment of protected areas; - development of the Emerald Network; - environmental education; - public control of environment impact assessment; - development of management plans for protected areas and protected species; - participating and coordination of on-ground species conservation. We work in different regions of Ukraine. UNCG has a good track record of establishment of protected areas. UNCG became an independent publisher of biodiversity data in Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) in late 2020. So far, we have mobilized almost 151.000 records from Ukraine and adjacent areas. Our datasets covered wide range of taxa - freshwater fish, mammals, amphibians, reptiles, birds, plants. Our special interest is in gathering data for endangered species. In this project, we will gather approximately 50,000 records of protected animals, plants and fungi. This will be a backbone for establishment of new protected areas and Emerald Network sites, as well as for development of management plans for already existing protected areas. As a result, we will prepare documents for all the important sites identified and provide them directly to the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Ukraine. Our gathered data on the occurrences of protected species will facilitate the establishment of new protected areas. We will also develop and popularize methodology for biodiversity data collection and publishing on GBIF. We believe that open biodiversity data is one of the key factors in further development of nature conservation.

取樣方法

Recording and identification of vascular plants with using road-field methods

研究範圍 The research covered the area of Podilski Tovtry 35 km long and about 5 km wide from Slobidka-Smotrytska village to Boryshkivtsi village (Kamyanets-Podilskyi district, Khmelnytskyi region, Ukraine). In total, the area of 233.6076 ha was investigated, consisting of 50 Tovtras ranging in size from 0.0224 ha to 18.2 ha (average 4.672 ha). In particular, 46 separate Tovtras of round or elongated shape located among agricultural fields were investigated. Also, the steppe part of Nihyn Tovtry (12 hectares) and 3 steppe areas in the vicinity of Verbka village (4.92 hectares and 5.6 hectares) and Humentsi village (11.5 hectares) of the main ridge of Podilski Tovtry were studied.
品質控管 The quality of data is manually controlled and verified, by Professor Ivan Moysiyenko. For quality control, we were used OpenRefine.

方法步驟描述:

  1. Conducting of field research
  2. Species identification
  3. Georeferencing
  4. Organizing of the dataset according to the Darwin Core standards
