Descripción
The dataset contains information on registrations on the territory of Ukraine of 267 species of animals belonging to 3 phylums, 8 classes, 39 orders and 105 families. Most of the observations were carried out in the territories of Chernivtsi and Vinnytsia administrative regions of Ukraine, information collected in other regions (mainly in the western, as well as in some central and southern regions of Ukraine) is also provided.

“Saving Biodiversity Data in Wartime” project aims to contribute to the protection and conservation of biological diversity in Ukraine during and after the war, by collecting, digitalizing and publishing the primary biodiversity data held by Ukrainian scientists and environmentalists in war-affected territories. The project is implemented by Oleksii Marushchak, 2023 Eastern Partnership Civil Society Fellow.

Métodos de muestreo
Materials were collected during field research on routes in various locations and in monitoring stations (established points). Animals were registered and identified visually, by voice or by signs of vital activity. In some cases, registrations were recorded with the help of photographic equipment. Reliable information collected by other observers is also included in the dataset. The coordinates of the registration sites were determined using the Google Earth program or the Garmin portable GPS navigator in decimal format (WGS 84 system). The nomenclature follows the Catalog of Life.
