Description

The database contains finds of 23 rare plant species in the southern part of the Synyukha River basin, that are included in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, Resolution 6 of the Bern Convention, the Red Book of Ukraine, lists of regionally rare plant species of Kirovohrad and Mykolaiv regions or that are the local endemics of the Dnieper Upland granite outcrops (Tulipa hypanica, Dianthus hypanica, Sedum boryssovae).

Geographic Coverage

The valleys of the Synyukha River and its tributaries - Chornyi Tashlyk, Malyi Tashlyk and Sukhyi Tashlyk Rivers (Mykolaiv and Kirovohrad regions).

The dataset consists of representatives of Plantae kingdom: Polypodiopsida, Magnoliopsida та Liliopsida classes.

Sampling Methods

We used explored the the part of the Synyukha river valley from Kalamazovo Village (Vilshanka district, Kirovohrad region) to the site of confluence with the Southern Bug River in Pervomaisk City (Mykolayiv region), as well as the valleys of its tributaries - Black Tashlyk, Small Tashlyk and Dry Tashlyk.

Study Extent The research was conducted in April-June 2021. The authors are grateful to the NGO "Ukrainian Nature Conservation Group" to the Buzk's Gard National Nature Park for the support.
Quality Control The author is fully responsible for the quality of data provided within the dataset.

Method step description:

  1. The plants were photographed and geolocated at a point using a GPS-navigator.
  2. Georeferencing.
  3. Organizing of the dataset according to Darwin Core standards.
