Descripción
The database contains consolidated data on 164 species of angiosperms registered in the geobotanical descriptions of permanent trial areas of the landscape reserve of local importance "Tarutyns'kyj steppe" with different nature management regimes, for the period 2020–2024. The floristic list includes regionally rare species and those included in the Red Data Book of Ukraine (Dianthus lanceolatus Steven ex Rchb., Arenaria serpyllifolia L., Stipa capillata L., Stipa lessingiana Trin. & Rupr., Stipa pulcherrima K.Koch.). A series of chronological geobotanical descriptions and factual materials on indicator plant species illustrate the structure and general trends of changes in the vegetation of the Tarutyns'kyj steppe under different regimes of its use. The research was carried out within the framework of cooperation with the non-governmental organization "Rewilding Ukraine" on the restoration of steppe ecosystems under the international project "Restoration of wetlands and steppes in the Danube Delta region" of the "Landscapes under threat" program of the University of Cambridge (Great Britain).
Registros

Geobotanical descriptions were carried out according to the classical method on permanent trial areas within the natural and anthropogenic ecological series: plowed steppe at the initial stage of demutation (land type I, according to the consolidated table), hay fallow (type II), virgin steppe with moderate livestock grazing ( type III), virgin land with wild ungulates grazing (type IV: open, grazed and closed, areas of the enclosure complex removed from the influence of ungulates), failure of the herd drive (type V), conditionally "standard" virgin land (type VI) with minimal by the degree of anthropogenic influence and burnt virgin steppe (type VII). Background phytocenoses in the monitoring areas are Bothriochloeta ischaemi, Stipeta capillatae, Stipeta lessingianae, Festuceta valesiacae, Elytrigieta repentis and Artemisieta austriacae. The sites are separated from each other by a distance of 0.3 to 5.6 km. All geobotanical descriptions have an area of 10 m2 (a square with a side of 3.16 m). The test areas were selected in nature, and their angles were recorded using a Garmin eTrex 20x GPS navigator. Species names and some common synonyms are given according to the international nomenclature and taxonomic electronic resource Plants of the World Online (source of data - Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).
Área de Estudio | The material was collected in the vegetation seasons of 2020–2024 during expeditionary geobotanical surveys of the landscape reserve of local importance "Tarutyns'kyj steppe", which represents a plain dissected by river valleys and streams with the remains of virgin Bujak steppes. The Chaga river flows through it with its tributaries called Cheban and Frumushyk. |
