Description
The dataset contains the results of the records of 1950 nests of the 18 species of Charadriiformes: Ringed Plover Charadrius hiaticula, Little Ringed Plover Charadrius dubius, Lapwing Vanellus vanellus, Black-winged Stilt Himantopus himantopus, Avocet Recurvirostra avosetta, Oystercatcher Haematopus ostralegus, Green Sandpiper Tringa ochropus, Wood Sandpiper Tringa glareola, Redshank Tringa totanus, Marsh Sandpiper Tringa stagnatilis, Common Sandpiper Actitis hypoleucos, Terek Sandpiper Xenus cinereus, Ruff Philomachus pugnax, Snipe Gallinago gallinago, Great Snipe Gallinago media, Woodcock Scolopax rusticola, Curlew Numenius arquata, Black-tailed Godwit Limosa limosa in the territory of mainly the western part of Ukraine, partly in other regions, namely: Volyn, Rivne, Lviv, Sumy, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Ternopil, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Zakarpattia, Khmel'nyts'kyi, Kirovohrad administrative regions. 63% of the records are located in Volyn regions (1230 records).

Project Data
With the help of the project two more publishers from Ukraine were registered. This means that despite rocket attacks, close to the front line, lack of light... Lviv, Kharkiv, Odesa and Melitopol continue to work on publication of scientific archives of the West-Ukrainian Ornithological Society and Azov-Black Sea Ornithological Working Group. Both organizations registered with GBIF and our operators have already handed over the first sets data for publication. And this means that more than 10,000 verified records of bird registrations will appear with open access.

Sampling Methods
The collection of materials for the bank of bird nests of Ukraine took place according to the methods and on the basis of the questionnaires developed by the Western Ukrainian Ornithological Society. The search for nests was carried out both during special research and for accidental finds. A separate questionnaire was filled out for each registered nest, which indicated the species, date and place of discovery, describes the biotope and exact location of the nest, its dimensions and nesting material, the dimensions and weight of eggs or chicks (if such measurements were taken). Such a questionnaire is a reliable documented fact of the nesting of a species in a certain area. The nomenclature follows the Catalog of Life.
