Description

The dataset consists of records of birds and mammals species puplished in literature resources authored by Mykola Charlemagne, namely results of the studies of the birds mammals from the nature reserve "Koncha-Zaspa" in the Middle Dnieper valley. The reserve existed in the vicinity of Kyiv from 1921 to 1934. The dataset also includes information on bird finds made by reserve workers in other locations. It is important to note that the dataset also includes data on mammals, but information about them was collected by the author (Mykola Charlemagne) mainly by analyzing the feces of birds. Additionally actual observations of mammals were included as well. Moreover, the dataset has two registrations from Cherkasy and Kherson regions.

Data Records

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 1,755 records.

  1. Searching of information concerning species' finds in literature resources published by Mykola Charlemagne.
  2. Georeferencing was done according to the descriptions provided in the articles.
