Description
The dataset includes finds of birds (Aves), mammals (Mammalia), insects (Insecta), amphibians (Amphibia) and reptiles (Reptilia) in some western, central, southwestern and southeastern regions of Georgia.
Data Records
The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 651 records.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
Versions
The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.

Sampling Methods
Studies of the species composition and number of birds, mammals, insects, amphibians and reptiles were conducted on routes (from 1000 m to 10 km) and in the survey of registered areas (from 10 ares to 5000 ha).
Study Extent | The surveys covered: - northeastern "tail" of the Lazistan ridge (southwestern part of Adjaria, Georgia), - the lower part of the valley of the Chorokh River in Adjaria (Georgia), - the territory of the Batumi Botanical Garden and some adjacent areas; - the area off the western shore of Lake Paleostomy in the Samegrelo region (Georgia), - the territory of the Ajamet Reserve and the adjacent part of the valley of the river Kvirila in the region of Imereti (Georgia); - the territory of the Grand Canyon of the Kura River (Mtkvari) above the city of Mtskheta (Georgia); - the territory of Tbilisi; - the territory of the Algeti National Park, the mountains of the Little Caucasus (Georgia); - the area near the town of Marneuli in the south-east of Georgia, namely: sections along the Jadrani Canal, the valley of the Algeti River between the village of Akhali-Marabda and the town of Marneuli, some adjacent areas; - when moving between these regions, sporadic observations were made on the route from Tbilisi to Kutaisi and then to Poti, from Poti to Batumi (through the Guria region and the northern part of Adjaria). |
