The dataset consists of records of herpetobiotic and other insects within some parts of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia Regions (steppe area of Ukraine) during 2019-2021

Data Records

Sampling Methods

Sampling took place using the following commonly accepted methods and approaches for collecting of enthomological material: observation and photography of insects in nature, Barbera traps, light traps, collecting with air net, handpicking, Malaise traps, Merike traps.

Study Extent The registrations of insects took place in the period between 2019 and 2021 on the territory of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions of Ukraine.
Quality Control The authors are fully responsible for the quality and accuracy of data presented within the published dataset.

Method step description:

  1. 1. Sampling with observation in the wild, handpicking, using Barbera traps, light traps, air net, Malaise traps, Merike traps.
  2. 2. Taking photos of captured insects.
  3. 3. Species identification.
  4. 4. Georeferencing.
