Description

The materials included in the provided dataset are data only from the personal observations and collections of the author (Serhiy Vlaschenko), which were conducted from 1964 to 2024 and will continue in the future. During these years, permanent stationary points were selected, where collections and observations were conducted regularly.

Data Records

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 927 records.

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Versions

The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.

Sampling Methods

Registration of insect individuals included conducting route and stationary insect collections; route methods of recording the number of insects and registering species diversity (standard methods of route records and fauna inventory); catching insects in the light, collecting insects using a bag, using various traps, growing butterflies from caterpillars and pupae, etc.

Study Extent Insect collection was carried out using various methods: route hikes, traps, growing butterflies to the imago stage from caterpillars and pupae, etc. Most of the catching was carried out using light, which provides numerous and diverse material. The list includes information on the territory of the Kharkiv region of Ukraine and is, so far, a small part of the butterflies that were collected. In the future, these lists will be distributed.
Quality Control The author is fully responsible for the quality of data provided in the dataset.

Method step description:

  1. Conducting of field trips and collecting of insects.
  2. Collecting material for further species identification.
  3. Species identification.
  4. Georeferencing.
  5. Organising of the dataset according to Darwin Core standards.
