Description
The dataset is opens the distribution and measurement of old trees and the present of parks create in the XVIII–XX centuries remained until our times. For the first time, the complete species lists of the vascular plants (dendroflora and herbaceous plants) in the Bekhtery, Novovorontsovka, Novooleksandrivka, Odzhyhol, Oleksiivka, Preobrazhenka, Rozdolne, Stara Zburivka, Chkalove, Chornomorske, Kherson (Kazennyi Sad), Khorly, Arkhangelskyi Forest, Nedogirskyi Forest, Odzhyholskyi Forest, Ivanivskyi Forest, Novodmytrivskyi Forest, Novochornomorskyi Forest, Oleshkivskyi Pine Forest, Reimerskyi Forest. The story of the old and memorial trees and it conservation are given. The total list of flora include 477 taxa names of vascular plants, 38 species of mosses and 135 of lichens and Lichenicolous fungus.
Data Records
The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 2,995 records.
1 extension data tables also exist. An extension record supplies extra information about a core record. The number of records in each extension data table is illustrated below.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
Versions
The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.

Sampling Methods
Recording and identification of vascular plants with using road-field methods Measuring the trees' diameter at a height of 1 m 30 cm, we used tape measures to find the trees with the maximum thickness of 100 cm. We used historical data dating back to the time of the planting, data on the growing speed in thickness and transferred the results to other trees by analogy. In addition, to verify the average data in the table, we used Presler cores for hard (oak) and soft (pine, ash) trees and got incomplete cores. The cambial age of trees in 2018 was determined according to (Sweingruber, 1996). Age is defined as the average of several calculated tree ages from different cores. Unfortunately, not all trees could be analyzed by the drilling method, so the age of most old trees was determined by growth tables with a statistical value.
Study Extent | Locality of the ancient parks of the Kherson region (Ukraine) in Bekhtery, Novovorontsovka, Novooleksandrivka, Odzhyhol, Oleksiivka, Preobrazhenka, Rozdolne, Stara Zburivka, Chkalove, Chornomorske, Kherson (Kazennyi Sad), Khorly, Arkhangelskyi Forest, Nedogirskyi Forest, Odzhyholskyi Forest, Ivanivskyi Forest, Novodmytrivskyi Forest, Novochornomorskyi Forest, Oleshkivskyi Pine Forest, Reimerskyi Forest. |
