Description
The dataset contains data on fish species in recreational fisheries catches, obtained during ichthyological studies in the Zaporizhzhia (Dnipro) reservoir (Zaporizhzhia region) and Kaniv reservoir (Kyiv region). The database contains data on the findings of 11 fish species registered during the study of catches in the specified territory, as well as information on the number of individuals, their biomass and the fishing effort spent on their catch (category and number of fishing gear, duration of fishing at the time of the study).
Data Records
The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 308 records.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
Versions
The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.

Geographic Coverage
The dataset covers the water area of the Zaporizhzhia (Dnipro) reservoir within the Zaporizhzhia region: from the villages of Fedorivka (right bank) and Orlivske (right bank) (Zaporizhzhia district, Zaporizhzhia region) to the dam of the Dnipro hydroelectric power station (Zaporizhzhia city). Also the dataset includes records from the section of the upper part of the Kaniv reservoir from the dam of the Kyiv hydroelectric power station (Vyshgorod city) to the Pivdennyi bridge (Obolon district, Kyiv city).

Sampling Methods
Zaporizhzhia reservoir. The records are listed in chronological order. The research was carried out using the method of direct interviews with fishermen at the fishing site, as well as biological analysis of the fish catches available to them at the time of the interview, using visual observation, portable devices for measuring mass, length and photo fixation. Species identification was carried out visually. The material was collected during 15 trips, including during comprehensive ichthyological studies on the Zaporizhia (Dnipro) reservoir. Kaniv reservoir The records are listed in chronological order. The research was carried out using the method of direct interviews with fishermen at the fishing site, as well as biological analysis of the fish catches available to them at the time of the interview, using visual observation, portable devices for measuring mass, length and photo fixation. Species identification was carried out visually. The material was collected during 1 trip.
Study Extent | The dataset contains data on fish species in recreational fisheries catches, obtained during ichthyological studies in the Zaporizhzhia (Dnipro) reservoir (Zaporizhzhia region) and Kaniv reservoir (Kyiv region) in 2020-2021.
