Description

The database has 1589 registration points of plant species. The database contains both individual points for individual species and several species with the same coordinates - these are data from geobotanical descriptions.

Data Records

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 1,589 records.

Geographic Coverage

The dataset consists of points from Sumy region, namely Konotop district (former Konotop, Putivl, Krolevets, Buryn districts). The main points of the data collection are situated on the sorrounding areas of the following settlements: Putivl, Chornobryvkine, Zinove, Spadshchyna, Zarichne, Nechaivka, Kamin', Mutyn, Zholdaky, Mel'nytsia.

Sampling Methods

The main part of the data was collected in the valley of Seym River and its tributary - Kleven River, - within the Seymskiy Regional Landscape Park, as well as the Poseym'ya territories adjacent parts of the park.

Study Extent These observations were provided and organized in a form of dataset as a product of winning project of UNCG grant for supporting of investigation of Desna River biodiversity. The largest amount of data was collected in 2020-2021, as well as some findings from 2016-2019.
Quality Control The author is fully responsible for the quality of data provided within the published dataset.

Method step description:

  1. Coordinates of species encounters were determined using applications on a smartphone with GPS or navigator support.
  2. Geotagged photos were also used.
  3. Georeferencing and additional check of the dataset.
