Description
The dataset was collected in the framework of the project "Grassland habitats of Ukraine of pan-European importance: current status, losses and conservation strategy in the context of global climate change and anthropogenic transformation of the environment" with the support of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine (project N 2020.01/0140).
Data Records
The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 3,944 records.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
Versions
The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.

Sampling Methods
Data were collected during the 2021 field season. The dataset includes records of all species of vascular plants, bryophytes and lichens within the sampling plots. Completeness of species composition was ensured by using the “biodiversity plots” method in a series of nested plots of seven sizes: 1 cm²; 10 cm², 100 cm², 1000 cm², 1 m², 10 m² and 100 m². Sampling plots were selected to correspond to EUNIS grassland habitats (R group). Data collection was performed in the following EUNIS habitat types: R12, R13, R16, R1A, R1M, R1P, R1Q, R21, R22, R23, R35, R36, R37, R41, R43, R44, R51, R55, R56, R62, R63, R64, R65. Samplings were performed in Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Khmel'nyts'kyi, Chernivtsi, Ivano-Frankivs'k, Zakarpattia, Volyn, Rivne, Kherson and Mykolaiv oblasts.
Study Extent | The dataset was collected in the framework of the project "Grassland habitats of Ukraine of pan-European importance: current status, losses and conservation strategy in the context of global climate change and anthropogenic transformation of the environment" with the support of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine (project N 2020.01/0140). This dataset was prepared (correctly organized according to Darwin Core standards) and published with the help of the project "Preservation of data on biodiversity of Ukraine during the Russian occupation" funded by "Documenting Ukraine" initiative. The initiative is financed by the Institute for Human Sciences in Vienna (https://www.iwm.at/). |
