The database includes the findings of fish along the Hirskyi Tikych river on the territory of the projected National Nature Park "Hirskyi Tikych" in the area of the following settlements: Rusalivka village; Buky town; Berezivka village (Cherkasy region, Ukraine).

Sampling Methods

Sampling was conducted in summer period 2018 within the Cherkasy region of Buky Amalgamated Territorial Community along the river Hirskyi Tikych. One of the territories was chosen (Buky village) due to the presence of a complex of objects of the Nature Reserve Fund, namely: Hydrological natural monument "Waterfall Vyr", Geological natural monument "Radionova" rock" and Сomplex natural monument "Buky Canyon"; the villages of Rusalivka and Berezivka were chosen because of their location relative to the Buky town upstream and downstream.

Study Extent Fish species from Hirskyi Tikych river registered in summer 2018 are shown in the dataset.
Quality Control The author is fully responsible for the information provided within the published dataset. Translation to english and some minor mistakes' correction were made by Oleksii Marushchak.

Method step description:

  1. Control sampling was performed at depths up to 2 m using fishing net with a 5 mm mesh. A total of 219 individuals of different species of fish were caught and processed for the study.
  2. Identification of species.
  3. Georeferencing of the findings.
