Sampling was conducted in summer period 2018 within the Cherkasy region of Buky Amalgamated Territorial Community along the river Hirskyi Tikych. One of the territories was chosen (Buky village) due to the presence of a complex of objects of the Nature Reserve Fund, namely: Hydrological natural monument "Waterfall Vyr", Geological natural monument "Radionova" rock" and Сomplex natural monument "Buky Canyon"; the villages of Rusalivka and Berezivka were chosen because of their location relative to the Buky town upstream and downstream.

- Control sampling was performed at depths up to 2 m using fishing net with a 5 mm mesh. A total of 219 individuals of different species of fish were caught and processed for the study.
