The dataset consists of records of fauna made by students and checked by their tutors (in particular caes with the help of iNaturalist resource). The creation of this dataset is a part of students' field practice aimed on teaching them how to collect, organize, preserve and publish data on biodiversity records. All information published within this dataset is aim on enriching the global data on biodiversity of Ukraine in terms of war.
The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 291 records.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

The results of the project will be a backbone for establishment of new protected areas and Emerald Network sites, as well as for development of management plans for already existing protected areas. As a result, we will prepare documents for all the important sites identified and provide them directly to the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Ukraine. Our gathered data on the occurrences of protected species will facilitate the establishment of new protected areas.

The identification of species was made using available accepted keys and guidelines for students in terms of the Biology program taught in the university. In particular cases the students used help of their tutors and iNaturalist online ptatform (both desktop and mobile versions). Georeferencing was made with the help of Google Maps and Maps.Me free mobile software.
|Study Extent||The dataset was created by students as a result of summer practical course in biology and ecology, mentored by their tutors, in 2023. Particular finds, that are included in the dataset, are personal observations from earlier years (e.g. 2007, 2017).|

- Conducting of field practical expeditions.
- Visual registration of representatives of fauna (photo and video registration).
- Species identification according to accepted keys and guidelines provided by the tutors.
