Description

The dataset includes finds of birds (Aves), mammals (Mammalia), insects (Insecta), amphibians (Amphibia) and reptiles (Reptilia) in some northern and northeastern regions of India, mainly in Assam state. The most important thing about this dataset is that it contains inforation on biodiversity from areas that were not previously studied and are hard to be reached.

Data Records

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 879 records.

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Sampling Methods

Studies of the species composition and number of birds, mammals, amphibians and reptiles were conducted on routes (from 500 m to 12 km) and in the survey of registered areas (from 1 ar to 5000 ha).

Study Extent The dataset is of particular importance as it contains registrations of various fauna representatives registered during field surveys undertaken in February 2018 by Stanislav Viter on the territories, where biodiversity is poorly studied.
Quality Control The author is fully responsible for the quality of data provided within the dataset.

Method step description:

  1. Organizing of field survey (expedition).
  2. Visual identification of the registered species.
  3. Georeferencing.
